Hugo is a Senior Portfolio Manager at Channel 4’s Indie Growth Fund, which invests in UK TV companies and helps them grow. There are currently 18 companies in the portfolio, and Hugo has oversight of 8, including Warp Films, Duck Soup, Candour, Big Deal Films and Proper Content. He was part of the senior management team at Screen Yorkshire from 2003-2020 where he executive produced over 75 film and television productions (Official Secrets, This is England, Peaky Blinders, etc). Hugo previously was Head of Development at Open City Films in New York and also lectured in screenwriting at Leeds Met University, York University, Aula da Risco in Portugal and the Cuban International Film School.
